Yesterday the lot of the community joined jinglebellz61 and llywnon for their 25th anniversary renewal of their vows in a Druid handfasting/Beltaine celebration. There was a lot of preparation that had been going on for months. greenmanrn and the couple spent many hours making a special mixed berry mead for the celebration. What can I say? It was a freakin' awesome party! Everyone who came had fantastic costumes. The contest was really close (well, exept for the "adult male" catagory...see pictures to understand). Yesterday we went to jinglebellz61's house to celebrate Lunassadh with the Evans family. mirrorflash, autumnleaf, thunderer and family were there as well as Melissa. We had a good discussion on the harvest as well as Celtic lore. I'm quite poor on Celtic mythology so it was nice to have a refresher. The ritual was very, very cool even if the temperature wasn't. I'm sooooooo having writer's block right now. I have to write a paper about Confucian principles as they relate to the book The Bonesetter's Daughter by Amy Tan. Inhaled the book in 2 days.
