tea in the sahara
my interview was canceled, so i'm updating.
this weekend was sooo much fun. we went to the hockey game at the walker arena where kalamazoo bitch smacked the fury with a 0-6 win. i was almost killed considering i was cheering really loud for kalamazoo in a sea of fury fans. let's just say i got a lot of dirty looks when the game was over and my team won.
sunday we went the the van andel (which apparently is now called "the public museum of grand rapids", i was so confused) and saw the egyptian exhibit. very cool. i was surprised as to how much stuff they had. if you have a chance to check it out, it's only $17.50 a person to see beautiful artifacts from egypt. i read that it is the largest collection the cairo museum has ever loaned out. i think mason and i might go back before it ends because my grandpa, gram and parents burned through the exhibit while chad, mace, and i tried to look at each piece in depth. plus, going the museum is just so much fun (at least for us, we are nerds.)
we also saw sean, ruth and star which as always is a great time. they might be coming down saturday for my birthday!
i brought in some sweet loot this weekend for my birthday. here's what i've gotten so far (and will probably be it):
-ween's new album shinola
-death cab for cutie's transatlanticism (or however you spell it)
-a beautiful burgundy king size down comforter
-$50.00 gift card to victoria's secret from brandy (my parent's mason and my mom had her chew on the envelope as a signature)
-deep frying pan
-soup bowls
-bath kit with all sorts of good stuff
-michigan sand castle
-jones soda holiday pack (my uncle bought it during the holidays and saved it for me)
-gas card!
-lots o' monies
i got my ring from mason on friday. it's a long story, but he stole my car and played a trick on me, but it was well worth it. it's absolutely gorgeous. it's a pear shaped emerald that is so clear and stunning surrounded by 14 little diamonds and then 6 diamonds on each side of the stone embedded in the band. it's the most beautiful ring. i can't believe he bought it for me. i've been asked twice if i got engaged. I AM NOT ENGAGED. i just have a beautiful ring from the man i love who loves me. it's my ring before the big one. oh yes.
every time i look at it i think about how excited we are to start our life together. it's going to be great.
so i will be in muskegon on friday if anyone would like to visit. i have a doctor's appointment at 10:00 and then after that i'm free. i do have to be back in kalamazoo at a decent time because mace is taking me to hanna east and we are going to stuff ourselves with sushi! terese, if you have the time i'd love to see you and mr. keegan. it's been so long!
