There are a lot of memes that go around on Facebook. Today I saw two of them that were just so incredibly ignorant I could hardly believe it. I choose to call them "oversimplified" because they try to take something complex -- the definition of "disability" and the use of drugs and medication to treat diseases -- and over-simplify it into a meme.

I met the new dietician at my hospital appointment. she was very pleasent and it was a getting to know you meeting. A current thread on somebody's LJ includes mention of people needing to *increase* their salt intake for health reasons. We hear so much about how we should all eat less salt but I think that advice is too one-sided. Less than what? Less than a very salty diet, yes, for most people that's good advice.
