Happy Christmas People!!!

I am blessed.

I have a wonderful husband, and a great family, with whom I get to share the Christmas joy.

My husband is fantastic.

First, let me preface this today by saying I just finished Nicholas Sparks' "The Wedding".

In this book, Wilson (the lead character/narrator) is trying to make up for being a neglectful and thoughtless husband through their marriage.

One of the ways he makes up to her is by sending her on a scavenger hunt of instructions...things to do before their big date.

Just today I read this.

Unbeknownst to me, My husband had planned something similar for christmas. He wrapped one gift to me. and it turns out to be a gift certificate for a massage. the other gift he bought me was the start of a scavenger hunt.

I opened the box and he drew a floor map of our living room and dining room. "X" marked the spot in the dining room. I found a scrolled up piece of paper bound with a ribbon and a jingle bell. This scroll sent me up to his nightstand. Then I had to go down to the basement. There was a wrapped gift down there with my name on it.

The wrapped gift ended up being further instructions and a magazine. The instructions sent me to the mailbox. The magazine was to IKEA. The next set of instructions sent me back into our bedroom. Underneath the bed, was the corner Hutch. I now have a place to store my China!!!!

I am thrilled beyond belief.

It turns out, we both bought a indulgence gift for each other, and then something for the house.

I bought Mic a really nice coffee grinder, and two different kinds of coffee. "santa" bought me curtains. I couldn't bring myself to give the curtains to Mic. HE LOVED them. He then said that we needed curtain rods. I told him that Santa made a special trip today for him, and he needed to go to my trunk and get them. He really liked the curtain rods too.

So, a year later, and our house is really coming together. We'll be able to move another box out of the house pretty soon. Once its contents are emptied into my new cabinet!

We also can enjoy the new look of our living room, and dining room with the two sets of curtains that santa brought.

This evening has been wonderful. We have spent the evening munching on crackers and cheeses, shrimp and crabmeat. He even made Chicken Satay. He found the champagne we drank on our honeymoon. We have now emptied the contents. Unfortunately, this means that my cabinet won't go up tonight. I refuse to have either of us put it together while we had even a little alcohol.

He is such the romantic. I am extremely lucky. and I do, I count my blessing for my wonderful family and friends.

I hope all have a safe and wonderful Christmas and Chanukah. I look forward to seeing family soon!

Much Love,

Rach

PS. he just came in here and looked at my user pic, he said that is one of his favorites

I just love this man
