cherries, apricots and those Villarose days
ROXBURGH- a small town which is a half hour drive from Alexandra. It has nothing much except for the many many fruit orchards there. Well, the entire Central Otago area is like that, basically. Best Days in NZ so far
Blessing number four arrived soon after we reached Steamers Beach BBH at Te Anau. Steamers Beach BBH was together with the other two lodges in this really huge Lakeview Holiday Park, where all the mobile campsites are too. We were pleasantly surprised and happy when we were given a room of two to ourselves despite only booking a backpackers stay. ( Read more... ) -
Going further South
Armed with only an online Catlins map and some rough planning done at the broken down lounge, we managed to book a night accommodation at the Slope Point Backpackers to stay for the night. Spirits were high and optimistic in the car as we made our way to Wairuna Organics in Clinton. We were sharing with each other about how fortunate we were, for plans always fit to a tee for us. Dunedin and its many uphills and downhills
Dear Dunedin,
I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. Your architecture exudes a strong Scottish charm yet at the same time those up-down hills and the Otago harbour gave a San Francisco feel. Every uphill provides a different view your beauty.Three weeks here, I still cannot get enough of you.

I am currently writing this from Alexandra, a very small town in New Zealand. It is so small (and boring) that my friend describes this place as a ghost town HAHA. All the sightseeing and exploration was done in two days. What I really love here would be this 11 metre diameter wide clock they built on the hillside, which can be seen even at night.
