Title: Within a Forest, Dark

A/N: 100 words for the blackpearlsails prompt 'Discuss'. I really had a problem with this prompt and had such a hard time finding a hook for it, but eventually went for the idea of flipping the prompt on it's head. Hope it works. Title from Dante's Inferno.
The night drips, like pitch, upon their bodies. His eyes reflect the void above. There are no stars here.
Fingers search her skin as though seeking a route back, but longitudes are measured from one point and her prime meridian is a moment best forgotten.
When he came to her that first night, she was waiting. An explanation rehearsed, though each worn sentence clotted thick in her throat.
“Jack, I…”
“Don’t.”
No further words were uttered then, nor any since. Lips crush, bruise, taste, but never speak.
His black gaze talks in riddles, revealing nothing. There are no stars here.
