I give you prompt#26- Smell- wherein Brian muses on his favorite scent.
Prompt #26: Smell
Title: His Favorite
Pairing: Brian/AJ (Backstreet Boys)

Nick would say that his favorite smell is the ocean, the slight tang of salt in the air as the waves crash against the sand. Kevin would say his was the various smells of the forest, the woodsy aroma of trees, dirt, and clean mountain air. Howie would say a batch of his mom’s homemade cookies was the best smell in the world. AJ would press his lips right against the sensitive spot behind Brian’s ear and tell him that the smell of sweat on his body after they’ve made love is the sexiest scent known to man.
And then Brian would have to disagree with him. Because out of every smell he could think of nothing compared to AJ. Just AJ. It didn’t matter if it was the slightly pungent odor of cigarette smoke that clung to him, or if it was the crisp scent of the soap he’d used that morning that Brian could feel invading his senses as he snuggled his head in the cradle of AJ’s neck.
Brian didn’t even mind the sweat that clung to AJ after one of their shows . The only smell that had ever bothered him was the stench of alcohol on AJ’s breath after a night of drinking, but that wasn’t there anymore. It was replaced by the sharp freshness of a wintergreen mint that AJ would pop into his mouth before kissing him deeply, leaving a cool tingle on his tongue.
Yes, Brian would have to say that his favorite smell was AJ. It didn’t matter to him whether AJ was fresh out of the shower or smelled like a pack of Marlboro’s, to Brian it was a comforting smell. Letting him know that AJ was his and that the scent of him wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon.
