The research that I am doing as part of my preparation to write a series of meditations on my Lady's names has been engaging. For someone who works in a city and lives in a subdivision, I've learned a lot about wild boars. In learning about wild boars, I am learning a lot about my Lady and Lord and , I think, about the Vanir in general.

In my read of the Eddas, the Vanir are not Aesir. The Vanir have not been assimilated into the Aesir. Neither are the Vanir in any way second or inferior to the Aesir. The Vanir are not friends of the Aesir. Neither are they on the same team as the Aesir.
