Poor car

Well, I was on my way to the store to pick up that last little stocking stuffer. Taking the backroad to the store has the advantage of a few less red lights, but a few more speed bumps. The car in front of me went over the first one just fine, but decided that it would be necessary to come to a complete stop before going over the next one. So I came to a near stop, not so the person behind me. Well I guess they did stop, but had to rely on the full braking/breaking power of my car too.

Basically, the trunk doesn't close enough to catch the lock, and while it looks okay, the lock itself may be damaged. The left rear quarter panel is pushed all the way into the passenger door, I haven't tried to open it, because I don't think it will shut again.

Still, though its fascinating to me to see no damage to the plastic tail light.

I am feeling okay. Marietta City Police came to fill out a police report, and, with the other driver, the officer and I managed to pull the steel bumper of her ford ranger far enough away from her tire to make it driveable.

I made a claim with the other drivers insurance about an hour ago, and have an appointment with their assessor on Thursday, but it doesn't look like the Corolla will be doing any Christmas traveling.

Sigh, poor car.
