A Moment of Happiness...
Through dark days and times of difficulty, it's cool to receive little visits from angels. Well, it sounds silly for me to call my good buddy Josh an angel, but I certainly value his friendship and feel so blessed to have him in my life. This past Monday night, he got 36 hours of "free time" during his two-month deployment. His ship made a pit stop in Okinawa, so he called me up and we went out for dinner and Starbucks on Tuesday night. In some respects, this was the first time since he left that I got to talk with another guy in roughly the same age bracket as me, in my native language. I have Japanese friends around my age and single (Keisho, Yoshua, Simon) but of course there's a certain part of me that needs to speak in English, to be understood fully, and so on. So anyways, Josh the angel left on Wednesday morning and will be gone for a couple more weeks. His visit was definitely a respite from my arduous schedule.
