It finally got hot here!
It felt like January forever. Then yesterday it got up into the 80s. The same today.
I took the afternoon off yesterday to take the kids and Ubu to the beach. There were several jet boats and yachts out on the water creating waves.
This morning Emma I spent more than an hour on the lake.
When the beach got crowded we sat in the fallen willow.
It is a great tree, on its side, with roots in the air. Yet, it still lives. Emma and I found a little nook on the tree where we could snuggle together.

Emma on the magic tree.
A friend of mine brings his 3 year old to the park on a regular basis. Our two girls played together for more than an hour on the beach, getting wet and having fun.
Two days of summer weather and I already have a sunburn!
I've been hiding in the basement most of the day. We have no air conditioning and the air upstairs feels stagnant and hot. I'm a little frustrated. It'd be a perfect day to visit Mount Baker, Mount Rainier or Mount St. Helen's - but there is no way I can afford the gas to take off and play.
This damn oil crisis is really putting a crimp on my adventurous lifestyle.
