Old stuff, new stuff

First off, I want to wish a very happy birthday to enigmaticblues ! May this new year of you be glorious.

Secondly, I want to thank petzipellepingo for this link!

"In honor of the "Deadwood"-iversary, several of the beloved series' cast members - including actor/"Deadwood" writing staff member W. Earl Brown - shared with Yahoo TV their colorful tales of being cast on the show, their experiences working with the "mad genius" that is David Milch, what it was like to work on the "Deadwood" set (including the surprise set wedding that featured Milch as best man), how they felt about the show's use of profanity and the art of a Milchian monologue, and what made "Deadwood" such a special entry on their acting résumés."

It made me want to rewatch the show AGAIN!

I can't help re-posting the vid of one of my favourite scenes from Deadwood, no scratch that, it's one of my favourite tv scenes ever!

I love the Jewel/Cochrane dance, I love the way Al watches them, and I love the way Trixie smiles at Al, in spite of everything that happened before, because she's so moved by the dance. It's a pure moment of grace. Paula Malcomson expresssed a lot on her face, she didn't need any line to convey that the dance between the newly-booted gimp and the drunk doc was something precious.

Speaking of Paula, apparently it was her idea to pair up Sol and Trixie! I love that woman.

Thirdly, as a follow-up to my previous post, I watched the pilot of AMC's new series, Turn, and I totally agree with Alan Sepinwall. The show has a great opening credits sequence but unfortunately doesn't live up to it.
