I was very touched by Penny and Desmond in the hospital. I wish them well.
I kind of liked how Juliet gave Kate the code for the fence for mostly selfish reasons to make sure that Sawyer stays with her. And Jack? His "big eyes, concerned face" is a little grating, but then I was never really fond of him.
Even though there were lots of scenes where it was easy to predict the next line of dialogue, e.g. "I'm from the future", I enjoyed the episode, maybe even because of that...
I didn't predict Eloïse shooting her son though. The piano scene was so cruel - and the actress was great! Well, someone needs to have Mommy issues - so far, it's been mostly about the dads. I do feel sorry for Daniel and I hope he'll be able to heal... I wonder whether that means that he is not really dead? Or is death for him the ultimate cure?
Yeah, it's more likely that the island is finished with Daniel - his mind healed earlier and the realization that his mother always knew that she was going to shoot him the closure for his Mommy issues.
Or, and - I'm not sure the writers can get away with another character surviving a gunshot to the chest - there's still more to Daniel's story than Eloïse could foresee - after all she didn't know Desmond's fate.

I'm with you about Juliet. I believe that the island already healed Daniel's mind.
