So within the last two days I have seen both "Wanted" and "Dark Knight" in theaters, let me tell you, my epic meter was in the red the whole time.
Firstly I would like to say that the plot of Wanted is held together barely, and while involving a thousand year old league of assassins with time-slowing/bullet-curving abilities, is sub-par at best. But who care about that when you've got cars tumbling midair so that a man can be shot in the face through the conveniently open sun roof of a limousine? Or curse words spelled mid-air by the remains of a keyboard, some blood, and a suddenly dislodged tooth. Or Angelina Jolie, anytime.
Dark Knight was better as far as that goes and Heath Ledger was admittedly the best representation of the Joker evar. Also Aaron Eckhart was one of the other guys (can't tell you which some batman nerd may be angered by my ruining everything) and while I think he did a good job, I kept being reminded of the movie "Thank You For Smoking." (curse you Erik Long!)
On a completely different note, I was in ground jujitsu class today and we practiced "NorthSouth" a move which resembles a 69 only vaguely more aggressive and with clothes on. Now I usually don't have any problems with rolling around and grappling any number of people at my dojo regardless of size or gender (although I admit I can't bridge and roll Jim who is 6'9" and 220 lbs). But this time I was working with Stephanie (not Smith) and she is 23 and skinny and cute. . .and oblivious to the awkwardness of her face too close to my pelvis for the move to be effective. So I spent the whole hour and a half ultimately disregarding the 6 years I have been training and with horrible technique.
I haven't felt that awkward since I forgot underpants before jujitsu class and Mont was my practice guy and hard to put into submission due to having arms as thick as my waist. having someone in a full-mount and trying for and americana arm-lock really reminds you has you aren't wearing underpants.
Another side note, I smoked hookah with my mom a couple days ago, and surprisingly she really enjoyed it. Also she thought the smoke bubbles was really cool and kept asking me to do it over and over again so she could play with them.
. . .I ran out of things to say.
Oh well. I'll see you in later days.
