I really enjoyed it actually! I was surprised at how many changes they made from the book though, for some reason I had it in my head that it was going to be a pretty close retelling of it. I know what you mean, most people are definitely of the attitude that they’re happy with just Netflix, and maybe Amazon Prime and Hulu, but otherwise they will just go back to illegally d/l shows if they became harder to access.

For example I read that Netflix’s deal with the CW might be ending soon because the shows will be going to WarnerBrothers new platform instead https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/arrowverse-could-go-to-warner-media-service-once-netflix-deal-expires But really most people who sign up to Warner Media will likely already be fans of those shows and subscribing for that reason, so they’re not going to increase their audience by doing things that way. It was Netflix who helped them reach out to everyone, you only have to look at shows like Riverdale and You to see what a difference that sort of exposure makes. Breaking Bad is another example of a show that became huge because of Netflix, and yet it seems in future years that type of easy accessibility is going to be lost as networks will just keep their shows on their own streaming services to keep them exclusive
