Snowflake Challenge - Day 6

On to day 6 of The Snowflake Challenge!

Day 6

In your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) and that you ended up loving.

This is a really hard one for me to answer. Partly because it's hard to remember the things that I was uncomfortable with that I read stories about anyway. And partly because it's even harder to remember which stories in particular broke that barrier. A lot of the things that I was uncomfortable with or that I wasn't interested in disappeared in a marathon of fic-reading and art-viewing where much of what I read and loved flew by in a blur.

There are few things in particular I remember being wary or mostly uninterested in until getting my hands on the fanwork. But I'll try my best to come up with at least three.

Recs 1-3. The first big thing I remember not being interested in until my friend forced fic on me was slash. I had known about it and fully shipped Remus/Sirius at the time, but didn't really have any interest in actually reading or writing anything until she had me read a few Harry/Draco stories back in 2003. And I'll be honest, I haven't read these stories since the first time, so I have no idea how they hold up, but I'll rec them because they're what got me started reading fanfiction and slash.

Irresistible Poison By Rhysenn

Chemical emotion runs feverish as Harry and Draco discover the intoxication of love. Written by a remorseless slash girl *g*, this story explores the intricate relationship between Harry and Draco.

Rec 4. RPF/RPS. I had glanced at RPF before, but was kind of wary about the whole concept. But then
femmequixotic posted some Pete/Patrick fic and suddenly, it didn't matter at all, I was in love.
