Anyway, that's not actually what I set out to write about...
Nikki is employed!!! SQUEEEEEE!!!! =D (As in, Nikki has an unpayed internship position for Field Work Term 2008, but still...it was competitive, and I had to apply to it and write a cover letter and all that jazz, and the whole ridiculous process was probably about as time consuming and annoying and emotionally draining as finding a real job would be). Yeppers....
I will be working for the Theater Offensive, a non-profit GLBTQ (gay rights) theater in Boston, as the assistant to the head of education/outreach and community events. Here's some of the interesting things I will be doing:
~Random administrative tasks (ie, filing, answering phones, general organizing, editing grant proposals, typing things, etc etc)
~Working with True Colors, the theater's "out gay youth troup" (middle-high school). Curriculum design for their workshops, assistant directing, going with them on tour around the Boston area and just helping to make sure everything is running smoothly and all that jazz
~Helping to plan/run/advertise for community events to promote awareness of GLBTQ issues

~Free show tickets, plus discounts on extra tickets for friends (so if you're in the Boston area, you should come see plays with me!! It'll be fun and awesome! And DRAG QUEENS, dude!)

~Opportunities to meet and mingle with actors, directors, drag queens, and producers from the area
I repeat...SQUEEEEEEE!!!! =D (I mean seriously, I don't think any more of my interests and abilities could possibly have been squeezed into a single position...)

Okay, now that I have this fat and annoying monkey off my back, I can actually have a life and pay attention to the world around me. Cool! So, how is everyone? How's life in this universe? Anything interesting happen in the world these past 2 weeks? ;-)
