Scott's interview:
1) What was your first impression of me?
I remember meeting you at one of the info meetings and I chatted to you about whether or not you are gonna come to the open house. You seemed interested in what we had to offer, but you indicated that you were gonna see what the other group had to offer. That seemed very wise and I hoped you'd come back to the right group because I thought you'd be a good member.
2)Sum up your presidency into a word or a brief sentence.
"tightrope" Now this is how i'd describe my tenure as prez. I wouldn't say I did the most, or helped everone out the most, or set the best example, or did anything particularly well. But I did my best to keep us in the right direction, which meant to keep as many people happy and on board as i could. Unfortunately we lost a couple on the way, and I take responsibility for not seeing it coming and interviening. I digress. I always had to walk the tightrope between angering those close to me and doing what i felt was right. Doing what i can to prevent any division even if it made me look as a poor prez. And as always, trying to walk the Professional/Social line. At least i did that well ;) Really, it's hard to put to words how i felt all year. The best way to describe it, that I was always trying to walk a line between what i thought was right and to not overstep my bounds.
3) Accounting or Finance? Why?
Finance. I get accounting, it's really not that hard. The hard part is how immense the subject is, but in reality, you only need to master one area of it in the workplace. But really, I don't have a passion for it. I do, however, have passion for personal financial planning. I enjoy the stock market and business news. I'd really enjoy building a practice and working with people.
4) Name one positive change and one negative change about the frat since you joined.
Membership. Our group has become a powerhouse in Grawn. We have become better in every way, and it is because of who is in the group.
5) How have you changed over the past year?
Geez... I don't know. I've haven't had the chance to reflect on life lately. I need a weekend alone, away from everyone i know and all the mental distractions of life to think about life. You need to get away from what you've become to truly realize who you really are.
Erics Interview:
1) Don't you hate pants?
pants.... you know you don't want to ask me about pants, what you really mean is Do I hate broccoli? And in response I would say "ahh broccoli, they say your good for me, but, I'm afraid i'm no good for you" *takes out ray gun*-- *aims*--*bbbbbzzzzzzuuuuhhhh*
2) What do you think about old junky cars worth less than $100 that have rims worth more than $1000?
I ponder to myself how the car itself have negative value, doing the math, by taking away the $1000 rims, the car is worth -$900.
( for those non-math people 100 minus 1000 = negative 900)
3) Why do hot dogs come in packages of 8 and hot dog buns come in packages of 10?
Back when Oscar meijer had the great hotdog monopoly, he coerced the hotdog bun cartel to make bun packs of ten to make us buy two packages of hotdogs to get the optimal use of hotdog buns. But then we realize we have extra hot dogs, and are forced to buy more buns, startng a vicious cycle of spending. This resulted in a boost in stock investor confidence because the oscar meijer was a subsidary of a major appliance company back then. Investors mistook the revenue rally as a sign of comsumer strength, which jumpstarted the economy. Few people know that this is really how we got out of the great depression.
4) If you had the power to stop one bomb from falling on any one of the following places, which would it be and why? a) Western Michigan University b) Fox studios c) the Budweiser brewery d) the Eiffel Tower e) the Las Vegas Palms Hotel & Casino f) Bob Seger's house
You make me choose between beer and Seger? Well i'd go with F) cause Bob's cool, and there are plenty of other breweries.
5) What is the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?
I'm guessing you didnt know me in high school. Really, i can't think of any one thing that embarrased me that i did. Ashamed... now i have some of those stories ;)
