The one consolation of working as much as I have been lately is, of course, being paid.
I've been itching for an iPhone for quite a while now, especially considering how jacked my blackberry has become in the last couple months, and I've been missing my iPod dearly since it dies a few weeks ago...So what did i splurge on??
Parking tickets.
Yup. Parking tickets. 12 of them, actually.
Something to the tune of $502.
That's right-- in the last two years I accumulated enough to tickets to equal one rent payment, or one iPhone with accessories and tax, or god knows what else.
This is all a part of Frederick Shannon showing financial discretion for a change, and it feels good-- though to be honest, when I pushed "submit" it felt like i had just gotten kicked in balls. Firmly, and with marked maliciousnesses.
Speaking of work, after prepping in the office for what seems like forever, we shot for a total of six days pretty much all over LA. Much to my chagrin, the shoot days all ended up being longer than our uncharacteristically long office days and averaged 13 hours or so apiece. Thankfully though, we (the PAs) spent the entirety of the last shoot doing absolutely nothing...unless you count crosswords, goofing around, applying makeup, and taking photos.
We did plenty of that
And finally, in closing, I caved and bought a new 80gb iPod classic today off of craigslist for $175. Making the exchange involved me traveling to a really sketchy part of LA I usually avoid, but the kid seemed really nice and it went off without a hitch. On the way home, I was checking through the photos and stuff he left on the iPod, and came across a few interesting ones, including one of a speedometer topping off at 140mph and another of a switchblade and a bunch of cell phones on top of a pile of hundred dollar bills. Sweet!
