After I realized that it was only me left in the house with a vampire and a slayer's watcher, I decided it was time to go home. Besides, it was morning and my parents would be home today. I wasn't going to school today. Even if I hadn't stayed up all night last night doing spells and watching people bleed and oh yeah, almost dying, I just needed a day to sleep and not worry about anything.
I made my way home, crawled up the stairs to my room and curled up in my bed. I fell asleep almost immediately and started having really freaky dreams. They were all about Faith and her soul and Doritos chips. At one point I heard my mom come into my room, but I told her I was sick, and after she checked on me she left me alone for the rest of the day.
I slept pretty much all day and when I woke up it was dark. I stretched and checked the clock and then rolled back over in bed. I didn't want to get up and face anyone. Besides, I knew all the creepy crawlies that were all over this town, especially at night, and I really didn't want to go outside and deal with any of them. So, I sat up and started doing some of the homework I knew that was going to be due when I went back to school tomorrow.
Three hours later my homework was finished and I went downstairs to raid the fridge. I made two sandwiches, grabbed a bag of chips, three sodas and some twinkies and headed back up to my room. I sighed as I settled in my bed, turned on some Farscape. I ate all the food, enjoyed the show and then crawled back under my covers. Tears started sliding down my face because I knew that tomorrow, I wouldn't be able to go to school and see Faith, my best friend. And it was all my fault.
