Today I was called into the Zone Manager's office. I had two managers discuss my "attitude problem" and how I'm "disrespectful". Their examples where that I tell customers that windows get damaged in Receiving, (they do, often) which is, according to them being disrespectful to management and the store as a whole. Also, one manager was upset because she chastised me for doing something that is NOT my job, and I argued with her that it wasn't. Basically they told me to be dishonest around customers. It wasn't a huge deal to them, (nothing to be written up over) but it still pissed me the fuck off. It annoys me when I have stupid things held against me (which are more often than not misunderstandings of what I intend to say, or people who don't "get" my sense of humor) but I'm never commended for the fact that I bust my ass every day there. They did say "We have no other problems with you... you're doing a great job!" but that doesn't really mean that much. I guess that's the breaks... you can't get any recognition in this kind of job, unless you're in the halls of upper management.
Also, Tony fucked up an order. A lot. Basically he sold a customer a garage door, which was going to be installed by the manufacturer. However, he sold it as a DYI install... which means no labor charge. The garage door company is waiting for their payment on the labor so they can go install the door. Well, I called the customer, and tried to explain to him that Tony set things up incorrectly, and he'll have to fix it tomorrow, before the door can be processed. Mr. Fuckhole told me that I was WRONG, that Tony did everything CORRECTLY and that a MANAGER looked it over an approved it. First of all, he did NOT do it correctly. Anyone who has set up these garage doors before knows this just by looking at it. I don't like it when someone calls me a liar... especially some dickfuck customer who is going to try to scam Lowes out of every cent he can just to prove a fucking point. Correcting this (even if he were to pay the extra charge) would require him coming in to a sign a new contract, and he made it clear that he was going to do neither. So basically we have an order with no labor charge and a company that is expecting one. Not only that... the order has TAX on it. That should have been an indication right there to Tony that he fucked something up... installed sales orders NEVER have tax. What fucking pisses me off is that the manager who told him everything was okay was THE SALES MANAGER. Even this guy doesn't know what the fuck he's doing?? On top of all that, the customer wanted ME to take care of it, despite it not being my sale or even the fact that I have no fucking idea how to make it work. So now my name is involved in it, just because I tried to call the guy and fix things for Tony on his day off. Also, I'm sure I'll be blamed because I'm the supervisor and I'm supposed to keep my guys in order. Sucks that I didn't find out about the problem until this morning. Nevertheless, Tony is going to have to fucking fix it tomorrow because I don't know how to, and it's his fucking problem. I have a day off anyway. I hope he can figure out how to charge $290 in labor at a customer cost of zero dollars, cause I can't.
