Like the title of this entry says, I really had a fabulous weekend because Joe came up to celebrate our two-year anniversary (yes, friends, it's been that long!) He got here around 8:15 on Friday night, which was later than he'd wanted to (long story), and hadn't eaten yet, so I took him to Encore to grab some food. Then we came back here and watched "Mary Poppins," which was fun 'cause neither of us had seen it in a while. By the time we were done with that, I was too tired to watch any bonus features (I have that special edition DVD), so we just relaxed and cuddled. Then we played 90s edition Trivial Pursuit with Jen because she hadn't yet played, and the idea sounded fun. Joe, for all intents and purposes, won, although we didn't play long enough for him to get back to the center circle. Jen and I tied with two pie wedges (or wedgies!) each, although I attribute my lack of wedges to two things: not landing on wedge spaces and getting way too many questions about rockers and guitarists. Then it was sleepytime, and I got to fall asleep in Joe's arms...really, there are not many things in life greater than that.
Saturday, we slept in and then went to brunch. We came back, I got stuff ready for rehearsals, and then we went to two directing scene rehearsals: mine and Becca's. After that, Joe and I came back to relax and shower. Around 5, we left for dinner at Skeeter's. Although Joe's dinner -looked- rather disappointing (only 3 chicken fingers with the platter...it had fries, but still) he enjoyed it, and I enjoyed my salad with pulled BBQ chicken on top. Usually, I'm not a fan of BBQ chicken, but the sauce they use is amazing. We had a lovely time sitting, eating, and talking about random stuff that in polite conversation might not fly (no, not sexual things, just not-so-nice things). After dinner, Joe took me on a couple errands I needed to run. That evening, we went to the drag show to see a few of my friends, and more importantly my brother, in their act. They ended up winning the show and then donated their prize money to the charity the show was raising money for. The evening was quite entertaining. We then went out to Friendly's with Matthew since Joe and I wanted dessert and Matthew hadn't had any dinner yet. We sat and chatted and ate and had a lovely time. Joe and I just relaxed...it was really nice to just lie there with him and have him stare back into my eyes and hold me and make me feel like there could be nothing wrong in the world...he just has that way about him.
Sunday, we slept in slightly less and went to brunch again. We relaxed some after that, but then I had to say goodbye to him because I had so much to do...meetings, homework, rehearsals, and such. I didn't want to let him go...I wanted the weekend to go on forever. Still, we had an amazing time this weekend, and I was really happy for that.
