Yesterday I thought it would be fun to take both dogs to the dog park. It's been harder for Shady to get in and out of the car (I think we are getting a ramp to solve this) and she has been aggressive with dogs her size or larger....not to the point of fights, but growls, and not the playful kind. So we keep her leashed until we're sure all is well. Funny think is, she loves the little dogs and mothers them.
Samson is the hit of the park whenever he goes. He is like a rock star. Everybody, dogs and people, loves Samson.
Well, another Husky got Shady on her back after we thought all was well and was going for her throat. I had to reach into the fray (thank God for thick mittens) and pull her off my dog while the other owner stood there not knowing what to do. I leashed Shady, they left. Samson played, we all came home.
But this all happened after the back steps attacked me. I leashed the dogs to get to the car, and looked at the steps, which looked wet. WRONG! They had flash frozen and it was a thin sheet of ice that you could see right through. I went down all three steps on my left hip and I am here to tell you. IT HURT LIKE A MOTHER FUCKER. Now I have a at least softball sized lump on my left hip. I can walk (although I look like a drunken sailor) but sitting or trying to lie flat SUCKS. Kept it iced off and on all night, so it's no worse. I texted a pic to my husband and a couple of friends, they said it looks like a knee is coming out of my hip.
Anybody ever have this happen before? Suggestions, please?
What a day! First the attack of the slow cooker and then the attack of the porch steps. Not even asking what's next because we've learned that lesson in this family.
