Burns Wedding Weekend
It's been an exhausting week between going back to work and hudson starting daycare and getting ready to go away for the weekend! But everything went as well as it could have gone. Pat and Hudson left for LI super early on Friday morning to drop him off in Mattituck before heading up island to the wedding. I didn't want to waste a day off so I worked all day Friday and was going to take a train...but then I looked at the train schedules and it was a logistical nightmare so I said fuck it and just drove. Which ended up being a good decision except for not being able to drive back with Pat today. But I didn't hit much traffic at all for a Friday and I got to the hotel at 6:30 so it was only about a 3 hour drive. Quickly got ready and then ubered to the rehearsal dinner. Hung out there for a few hours and then pat and I ubered it back to the hotel with jarret and rachel and had a couple more drinks in the hotel bar. Everyone started going to bed between 12 and 1 so I decided to do the same. However Pat was ready to party and went out by himself and ended up falling asleep in the uber lol.
I was pretty hungover on Saturday morning and I think Pat was still drunk. He annoyed me until it was time for him to start getting ready lol and then I went back to sleep for a little bit before I had to get ready to go to the ceremony (strongly contemplated not going because no one would have noticed lol but I was like nooooo gotta do it). Did a terrible job driving there and ended up being 5 mins late because of stupid nassau county roads and the church being like 100 miles away from the hotel but thankfully the wedding hadn't started yet lol. Sat through the ceremony and then drove back to the hotel, went up to the room for a few minutes before hopping the shuttle to go to the reception. I was pretty shot by the time I got there but I rallied and it ended up being a really fun night. Zuke, Steph, and the Motts showed up and were at our table so we pretty much hung out with them and Fred all night. The reception was great--really good food and there was a band which I'm usually not too crazy about but they were excellent. Shuttled back to the hotel around midnight and had a couple drinks in the bar before calling it a night.
Woke up around 8 this morning and was too hungover to go back to sleep :( so I laid there feeling like shit for a couple hours lol. Called for late checkout but they could only give us until 12 instead of 11. Better than nothing I suppose. Finally got ourselves together and managed to get out of our room and start getting our stuff in the car, when I realized my glasses were missing. I figured they were either still in the room or somewhere between the room and the car and went to the front desk to ask them to let me back into our room to look...when a lady appeared to turn in my glasses which she had found in the elevator! Yay lol. Stopped by the bar to say goodbye to Burns and Amanda and then we hit the road :( I made good time getting home and even stopped to eat cuz I was hangry. Pat had to meet his mom to pick up Hudson so that took them a little longer. They should be home soon. Gotta go pick up Chester (we boarded him there for the weekend, couldn't leave him home given his recent health issues) around 7 tonight. Lots of other things I probably should do tonight but I'm pretty lazy so I don't know how productive I'm going to be lol. Busy week coming up with vet/doctors appointments almost every day after work ugh.
