As a side note, I read Merchant of Venice this weekend. This is the play from which my name originates, I think. Kind of a problem for me - Jessica, the girl who marries a Christian, steals from her Jewish father and calls him an infidel, and converts to Christianity. This is the person for whom I am named. Oh lovely. I wonder if I can find earlier, happier instances of this name...
