Not Dead!

I just am very relaxed. :p

I finished my master's, which was a bit stressful, but it's done! I'm all graduated and everything! No one can take it away from me, muahahahahahaha!!

The wedding I mentioned in my last post was absolutely lovely, and a ton of fun to be part of. :D

Between finishing my thesis on April 19th and graduating on May 23rd, I went to California for a week to hang out with R. Also, my family came to hang out with me in Van for the week before graduation. Both were wicked awesome!

After graduation, I got a free ride to Barcelona for a conference that my supervisor was on the organizing committee for ("Fraulein," says she, "My phd students are busy that weekend. Would you like to come to Barcelona?" "Supervisor," says I, "Who says no to that question?" And then away we went!), which was great. I even got to do a little presentation, so now I can put that on my resume! I also used the trip to Europe to go to the UK and visit the relatives I hadn't seen since 2008. ^^;

Got home, had Portcon, then 4th of July party, then volunteering at the local color run, then my mum had (minor & planned) surgery (which went fantastically, she's super happy), then the old comic shop's ten-year anniversary (at which all of the old gang actually appeared! Ahhh, it was awesome!), babysat my friend's six-month old, went to Man of Steel, The Heat (so great, guys), Pacific Rim... all in all, I've felt surprisingly busy for someone who doesn't actually have anything to do. :p

Next week, my mum and I are headed down to Norfolk to welcome my younger brother's ship back from deployment. We're gonna spend a week there, because we really weren't sure how precise their due date was. Turns out pretty precise and we're just gonna have a bunch of spare time down south? So we're planning to go to Gettysburg and Kittyhawk and stuff. :D Also, my supervisor suggested I submit my thesis for publication, so I need to actually trim that up and get it ship-shape for that in the next little while.

Sorry to have disappeared for so long. I definitely know from deviantart how it feels to be part of a dwindling crowd on a platform. (Not that devart isn't still used, just that most of my friends have moved on.) I hope y'all are well though!
