Book recs wanted

I'm almost done with A Feast for Crows and while I own Dance with Dragons already, this book is wayyy too heavy to lug around on my upcoming US trip. And neither will I want to have a 2 weeks break, so I'll keep it for after I'm back ( Read more... )

I tried to read the Kushiel series, but I couldn't get through the first book. Not my thing, I guess!

I will look Sharon Kay Penman. I'm not so fond if Phillipa Gregory, though.

Have you read Alison Weir? I'm pondering her "Innocent Traitor" novel

Alison Weir? I started to read one of her 'factual' books and couldn't get past page 42 because of her dismissive, one-sided opinion of anyone who opposed the myth of Elzabeth I. But that's just me...

Heh! I read her "The 6 Wives of Henry VIII" book and I liked it, but I certainly know what you mean about people with differing view points!

She's one of those 'Oooh, Bloody Mary killed all those innocent protestants but lovely, lovely Gloriana daughter of the Sainted Anne Boleyn only killed guilty bastards who deserved it' types. Gets my goat, it does!
