(Still taking questions!)

Again, something that splix wanted to know.

I guess "I'll take my Kindle" would be cheating, right?

Okay... That one is hard. She didn't mention a number ;) so I'm going to limit it to five. I guess I would say the following:

1) Momo by Michael Ende. Despite not having read this in ages, this is one of my favourite childhood books. I will have to re-read this at some point soon. This book is hard to summarise, in my opinion, because there's so much to it. Basically it's about this girl, Momo, who suddenly turns up in an (Italian?) town. She can't count, can't read, and when asked how old she is, her reply is "As far as I know, I've always been there."

She listens to people, and thus helps them figure out their problems, etc. And then the grey men turn up. They grey men (with cigars, iirc) steal time from the people and Momo and various friends, including a tortoise who can see 30 minutes into the future, has to save the people from the grey men.

Basically - read it.

2) Ronja Räubertochter by Astrid Lindgren. Another book from my childhood. This is a story about a girl who grows up in a clan of robbers who falls in love with a boy from a clan her family is feuding with. They run away, have some adventures, and eventually their familes reunite. Or something *G*. This is not as deep as Momo, but a cute story.

3) Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop. My guilty pleasure. This is not stellar writing or anything, and there's a Mary Sue so obvious, it hurts sometimes. But goddamnit; Daemon. This book's sole purpose would be to keep me... ahem... entertained at night.

4) Can I cheat and just count A Song of Ice and Fire (by George R. R. Martin; duh) as one piece of work? Since no numbers are mentioned, I'll just do that. I don't think I have to write anything about that, do I? If you don't know what it's about, I don't know where you've been these past years.

5) Ah hell, since I'm cheating anyway *G*, Discworld by Terry Pratchett. The entire back catalogue. Again, I don't think I need to write anything about this, do I?

books, meme
