Im home from work today because I feel generally ill, my head hurts and I feel....bleh.
Yesterday at work I answered the door and a delivery guy, who was massive, sweaty, and smelled of dizzifying sweaty body crack odor was there to insult me in all the ways one could. First he suggested I couldnt handle the weight of the delivery. I said I would be okay, I knew what he was delivering. To that he decided to pass me the boxes in the most awkward way, and he also decided he'd pretty much drop them in my arms. So he committed offence number one, treating a person in the "factory" industry poorly because they dont have genitals on the outside. ALL of the other delivery men I deal with are super nice to me, the older ones sometimes polietly suggest I get help because things might be a bit heavy. Some of them bring things in themselves and say nothing, which is all fine with me, Im stronger that I look. But this guy suggested I couldnt lift something, and then tried to make it hard on me so he looked right. Thats the deffinition of an ass.
He then proceeded to read my t-shirt. I was wearing an Amon Amarth T-shirt. Amon Amarth is a band that write lyrics about viking matters and viking stories about gods and the like. So my shirt said "Under winter skies we stand glorious and with oden on our side we are victorious"
He read my shirt and with a sneer said to me "You dont believe in that stuff, do you?" I said "no, not really, its just a band that like to sing about the norse gods, just a story" He said "good cause there is only one god"
I said I didnt believe in any god, thinking that would be the end of the discussion. But I was wrong, he mentioned intelligent design and thats when I knew this was a conversation not worth getting involved in. Science does not prove the existence of intelligent design in any way shape or form, the humming bird flying backwards doesnt mean god exists, the bee doing whatever special thing it does doesnt mean anything intteligent designed the earth and its inhabitants. Religion requires blind faith, period. Any person trying to phsyically prove the existence of their god through science doesnt have blind faith, and therefore arent convinced themselves. Here are some bible versus that prove my point:
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
This verse is how to be a christian. First you must believe that god has judged humanity, that we have fallen and we cannot be justified by any of our own means, then you must belive by faith alone that jesus' act of dying has satisfied god's judgment. Period, end of. You have to believe this without any other evidence. I dont want to keep reading the bible online, its boring, so I give one more example:
Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
FAITH in god, not so called scientific proof twisted by men to look like wisdom.
So thats the root of the problem, if you want to convert me, you have to get me to believe in something by faith alone because thats what the bible says. Good luck with that. It aint gonna happen.
Maybe christianity is the one true religion, maybe Im wrong. I just cant see myself accepting something as truth I have no evidence of and because of this I cannot have faith. I have no proof, and unfortunately I do have contradictions, corruption, and something that just doesnt make sense, so for now christianity isnt for me.
Now if only I could have said that to him!
Oh yeah I said he was offensive, I told him my parents were christians, and he suggested they werent. Whats that about? Whatever dude, if God is real I woulnt think he'd represent himself with a stinky, fat, offensive ass.
