Today on the news, we covered a story that really bothered me. Apparently there was this shelter set up in Daphne, the Nicholson Auditorium I think, and now that everyone local has left, all that remained were refugees from New Orleans and Mississippi. This auditorium happpend to be located in a fairly affluent neighborhood and several of the residents lobbied the mayor and haed them moved to the much older, and already pretty crowded Robertsdale Collusium. There was a protest to the moving. According to one of the protesters she got a call from a neighbor asking her to call the mayor so they could get rid of those "sketchy looking people."

That's just...so....fucking...terrible.

For all those people I have one thing to say. Get used to it. No one has really talked about this, but Mobile and Baldwin County are about to get a major population spike. There are millions are people displaced by this storm. They've got to go somewhere. The people in these shelters are going to have to get jobs if the can't go back home for months. They'll enroll their kids in schools here, etc.

Anyway, I don't rant often, but damn that's cold.
