In all fairness, though, "pants" is a weird word. I mean, I'm sure in other languages, it's a perfectly good singular word--like Goatese. I bet in Goatese it's singular. Thus, "pants is good" would be grammatically correct in Goatese!

Um, yeah, I should probably go to bed and stop pondering these things.

Why did I just read that as "Grammatically correct in goatse"?

Anyway, pants as an adjective meaning bad ("This TV show is pants!") would make slightly more sense - at least, no problem there about using a singular form of the copula.

Well, of course. But there are still explanations for why a goat would naturally go for "pants is good" rather than "pants are good."

Well, technicaly "pants are good" would be correct. However the intention was there so IMO it matters not
