Death Spam
Dad got a letter from the neighbors the other day, which started and ended nicely.
The meat of the letter, however, was amusing: an appeal to accept Jesus Christ. I googled some of that paragraph as it has a form letter quality to it, but nothing came up. I guess most dogma has that ring to it though.
"...I don't know where you stand in your relationship with God. I hope and pray that you are very close to Him..." and then some "facts" about the whole Jesus equation, and then my favorite part: "Wow-heaven-no more pain or tears or sickness or sorrow. Sounds pretty good. And all we have to do is accept this gift...."
Anyway, nice gesture, though we are all thankful that they checked in with my sister before just coming over.
