Second Ski

I've been doing precious little productive over the...gawd...past three months on first glance, but I'm not sweating it too much.

First of all, I've been spending skads of time with my folks, and while watching TV isn't going to "create memories", they like me being around, and I like being there, so my productive inclinations can just suck it.

Secondly, I have been doing stuff. I need to slap some words on these screens to help me remember what.

Today I was out the door to go skiing by 9:30 and didn't get back until noon. I've just been driving down my folks' road to the old gravel pit and setting off down a new-ish logging road from there. I really like breaking my own snow rather than going on established trails, though over the years I've done more and more of the later. I still get a bit of an explorer tingle when I don't know where I'm going and, according to the snow at least, I'm the first person to ever try. Today i did some serious bush skiing along the fringes of some beaver ponds, and even got to pat myself on the back as through all the zigzagging around dense thickets of tagelders and downed fir trees, i managed to intersect yesterday's trails just about where i thought i would.

Tried to pay for the materials for my new roof. It's going to run about 4 grand as i'm not just covering the existing roof with the metal, but adding a few inches of insulation and creating about a foot of soffited eaves all the way around. I guess I'm finally going for the silk purse outta a sow's ear. The guy who knew about my order wasn't around though, so i may have to go back tomorrow.

Then i packaged up and mailed off From Hell...one of the many graphic novels and games i've been selling on Ebay. Sold about $175 worth of stuff so far, and none of it was particularly traumatic. It is a slow route though, and I really feel like just throwing a match to my piles of stuff most days.

And then the coffee shop. Yes, time wasted, but spent with good folks and even got me a little reading done.

I did not get any trim work on my floor done, however. And though the night is still young, i am not likely to do so, but who knows...after i have a big bowl of soup, i may feel particularly feisty.
