Hey all!
how's everything goin up on the homefront? yup, got my nuevito on thursday. his name is Elder Bugger. I think the first words out of mt mouth were "Now, how do you pronounce that?". he pointed at his nose and said "like booger". and we went from there. this kid is pretty darn cool. he's from the missionary factory, as members here know it...also known as the mothership. he does, however, know route 81 pretty well because he was a trucker before the mission. I thought that was cool. also, apparently the members of "SheDaisy" used to be his primary teachers. his sister plays the piano so amazingly well that she fills in for the normal pianist when needed. though im not entirely sure yet, I think he too, is a singer. we're thinkin' of one of these days goin to the streets somewhere and singing. ive wanted to do that almost the entire mission but you gotta have a pretty "big set" to do that...if you dont know what that means...dont worry about it...but apparently elder bugger did it in one of the airports or something with his MTC comp and people just went up to them to listen. anyway, so far we're gettin' along just great and I think we're gonna be able to work way hard together.
this past week was rather interesting. this past 5 days I suppose. didnt get to bed wednesday night until about 130am and my comp had to get up at 320ish am. I woke up to him puking in the bathroom sink. we're pretty sure he was sick from the lunch we had eatin that day. Ill tell you, it was udderly delicious...or udderly something or other. we ate cow intestine (I think), Kidney (which was surprisingly tasty, actually), normal barbacue meat...stake, I guess we could say. then, there was the udder. yes, we ate cow udder...we're pretty sure that's what made him sick. well, he left at about 345 and I got up so I could shave (relative to being a missionary, I looked like a mountain man). I had to first drain my comp's puke out of the sink, dry heaving myself half the time, then I could bleach that thing to be bale to use it. that wasnt fun. I left myself to go to concordia at 530 and got to the ZL's pench at 730 to wait with one of the Zone Leaders and another elder that lived there as we all 3 waited for our comps to get there. as we had nothing to do because of transfers, and our comps didnt get here til 1100ish, we stayed in their pench playing cards for a loooooooong time. probably about 5 hours straight at one point.
I myself was rather miserable during that time as I got sick too, but just allergy type stuff, not sick in the stomach. i couldnt breath through my nose for a good couple hours, and I hate that. im only just now getting over all this, but my throat still hurts good.
::looks at email thusfar:: haha, this is already a long one. well, we spent the first couple days walking everywhere, as ALL our plans were failing us. but the week certainly ended well. the last place we went yesterday. a lady that we contacted about 3 weeks ago, yesterday was the first time we were able to actually teach her. we taught her and her daughter the 1st lesson. it was interesting, as it was my comps first time teaching a full lesson here, but it actually went rather well. the only reason we didnt try to commit them to baptism was because we didnt have much time left. but they accepted the lesson rather well and they are so totally gonna get baptized. them and who knows who else from the family we can start teaching. Im way excited for them, it was probably the best lesson one, and the best acceptance thereof, that ive taught since that one family of 5 back when I got here to federal. so, we are starting off the week, and the transfer, with a ton of hope.
here's a random question for scott. did you see the new Johnny Cash movie? how was that? I really wanna see it. everyone has seen the new pirates of the caribbean movie right? my sources say that it, too, was amazing.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUGLAS(S)!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!
you guys havent already got my flight plans, have you? the elder from the group right ahead of mine said his parents had already got his a little while ago. its looking to be a great last couple months of the mission. i just found out this morning that we have gotten approval from the president to have a zone activity and go see a dam in uruguay! right, like, actually go to another country! one of the Zone Leaders (being from vegas himself) told president "vegas vacation" style. apparently it went down something like this:
Elder: "Hey president, there's a dam right across the border we can go see"
President: "yeah?"
Elder: "yeah, we wanna go see a dam tour"
apparently the president started laughing.
anyway, so, everything is good here in federal. we're gonna have to go soon. until next week! Love all y'all!

Love,
Elder Casey Adams
