Weekly Ramblings #54

Hey hey hey!
so, as you all may have noticed...today is actually tuesday...got the email kinda late yesterday and then didnt have time to write anything. but dont worry, im still alive and well :-P for all intents and purposes, I suppose I can pretend that it is still yesterday. but anyway, the weather was nice. hot, like usual, but not overbearingly so, and a nice cloudy-less day. we didnt end up doing much. we went to san nicolas as most of the zone was gonna go somewhere to play pool. well, that place never opened, so we went to another place I knew that had 2 tables...but only one was working...so we just played a few games each and did internet, then went to eat at a nice restaraunt. it was actually the same place I ate at my very first Pday in the mission, and (hopefully) it's the last time I eat there too...that is to say, the place rocks, probably the best amount of food for the $11 ya gotta pay...but transfers are this thursday and Im really hoping to be outta here.
on the upside, if Im here one more transfer (6 months over all), I atleast have something to keep my spirits up. we just had interviews with the president on thursday and he came out with a new thing he wants us to try to beable to get more investigators. not much more than we've already been doing, but just enough of a twist on things that once we really start doing it, and if it works, it's about the only thing that will keep me animated about being here still, which according to the president, is very possible.
oh the audacity of accusing me of not wanting to be a virginian anymore! bah! when you're with a big idahoan for 6 weeks, the words tend to stick...did you guys never hear me say "flip" before the mission? I was into that one too. ill come home with a bunch of sayings in spanish that no one will understand, but dont think im wantin to be argentine, neither.....wow...so, id use a bunch of virginia words to prove myself right now...but none are really coming to mind....do we really have any? or is it just a lack of western words that make us who we are?...well garsh, moving right along...
wow, making the elders apple pie, eh? Ill probably never make it in the entire 10 months Ive got left...but the recipe for apple pie would rock to recieve. they've got plenty of apples here...but Im pretty sure ive never seen apple pie... :-(
so, what exactly does brian do for his new job? I showed that part to my comp, who has been doing house construction with his dad for a really long time now, and he had no idea what that was...for that matter, what DID brian do, also? I tell people just what I remember hearing a lot..."from the walls in", something about supervising construction but helping the buyers and such, too...
you guys wanted the seahawks to win? all the way out from washington? what fer? at least we had the steelers representin' from the east coast...then again, unless im playing fantasy football, the only team I really care about is the redskins...they'll get 'em next year. :-P
yup, still got that calander...I dont really use it all that much...as much as I like having a calander...im just not much of a calander person. I stopped marking off the days back in june...but, it does get quite a bit of attention when Im looking to get myself trunky at night and I just look at how much time there is until november...anyway...
nah, but anyway, everything is still pretty good here. our one investigator...well...he probably wont get baptized this saturday as planned. we were at church in pueblo sunday (as opposed to in villa, where abel would go). we were gonna have a lesson with abel in the church in villa at 730. he never showed, but a member of the branch presidency showed up...he told us that abel did, indeed, show up to church today...a tad on the drunk side...abel had told us before that he used to have a drinking problem (as with the rest of his family), but that he had quit 2 months ago, and knew that it was bad...well...apparently he didnt quit entirely...we're gonna go try to find him today and see what we can do to help him. we still havent taught the word of wisdom...that might be a good start...
we also have a bit more energy to work in pueblo, our other area. we "kinda" work there every other day...but dont always get out there or stay out there for long when we are there. we dont like working out there much because the area is dead...likewise the area is also kinda dead because we dont much like working out there...it's kinda a vicious cycle. the branch usually averages 10 people in church...well, this past sunday there were 21 not including us, including a lot of youth and a family that seems to be coming back strong that was way inactive before...seeing this just kinda gave us a jump-start of energy for working over there again, so, we'll see what happens. oh, and since you asked how big the branches are out here, well, I just said pueblo. the one in villa lately has been averaging about 25-35 people.
so, anyway, everything still goes good here. hey, so you guys know, the rule changed a while ago about emails. provided that they are from members of the family (immediate or otherwise) Im actually allowed to get as many and write as many letters as I want. so if anyone else wants to write me seperate emails, they have permission :-P. oh, and mom, I got the letters from the other guys that you sent, and it had a little somethin somethin green in it, so it's safe to do it that way. i also loved that picture of brian with...ummm...I forget his name...carter? Ill just call him patton :-P. but there's brian, patton, and on the table? the sunday crossword puzzle, rock on! well, I think that's about it for this week, until next time: be good, or be good at it...on second thought, it's probably better to just be good...

Love,
