opinions? my first recommendation letter

To Whom it May Concern:

As a student at Holyoke Community College, I had the pleasure of being in K B’s Nutrition class for the Fall, 2009 semester. As her student, I felt inspired to pursue my continuing interest in nutrition-related subjects.
Her class was run in such a way that it was obvious that she is organized and dedicated to her work. Her class lectures were well thought out, and she succeeded in keeping the class engaged for the semester. The projects she had us do were enjoyable, thought-provoking and challenging.
When answering questions in class, she was knowledgeable and authoritative, and if she didn’t know the answer, had no problem admitting it and then encouraging pursuit of the information. What I really admired about Kim was that she never laughed at a student for asking what might have seemed to me like an ignorant question. Instead she would answer the question respectfully and as completely as she could under the circumstances.
To conclude, I think K B is an excellent candidate for your graduate program. She’s a great teacher, and is motivated to succeed. I only saw her teach one semester-long class, but from her professional demeanor I can only surmise that she has what it takes to be one of your top graduates.

Sincerely, Laura Woodworth

I know there is quite a run-on sentence in the 3rd paragraph, but i haven't yet come up with a way to make it better.
She really was a great teacher.

Meanwhile, here at the homestead things are happening. I finally had the building inspector here to check off on the last two permits; one for the porch, one for the solar system. The shed guy is here, moving the shed because it is right in the way of our neighbor's well access. I wrote the above letter (I have been procrastinating for a bit), and Jack is going to get his yearly shots today. Packing is going slowly, but more and more I think that if I can just go through our stuff and get out the things we don't want, then someone else can pack the hard stuff for me. Especially if we get 13,000 more than our asking price!

tonight I might sign a lease for the 2nd rental, depending on what Dan says about the house on Frederick st. He is scheduled to look at it today.

I'm still having a hard time visualizing how this month is going to proceed... there are gaps- things I can't quite figure out. It is hard to leave a house you are still living in, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Our stuff really anchors us.
