Age and time on June 18th

Jun 10, 2011 22:08

Hi everybody!

Our next meeting is going to be rather philosophical - we'll look at age and time and discuss the following questions:

- What do you think of the common idea that childhood is the best period in our life? What was your childhood like? How was life back then?
- There's another common idea that teenagers are unruly, rebellious and turn their life into mess. Is that true for you? Why? How did you see your future when you were a teenager? Is your life now in any way similar to what you imagined?
- When do you think a person becomes mature? How would you characterize a mature person? What do you think one should do to realize oneself? What do you think of the traditional house-child-tree scheme?
- When does a person become old? What does it depend on? Is it possible not to become old at all? Do you know any examples? How is the attitude to retirement and growing old in England different to that in Russia? Why?
- Do you think time flies faster as you grow older? Why? Does it slow down when one does few or a lot of things, when one changes a lot or stays the same? How do you understand the relativity of time? 5 years - is it a long period or not? What was your life like 5 years ago? What do you think it will be like in a 5 year's time?
