One step up...and well, just one step up.

Well, I got the detail work on one of the sleeves of the heraldic tabard done with the piping all tucked in. I did a tat bit of the quilting up the side of the pale. It does help keep the lining from sagging. Have to work up the other side the next time I set down with it.

I was a little hesitant to work on it because my mom, even though she was not there, the house still smells of cigarettes. I kept everything in a rubbermaid unless I was actually working on it so I think that helped.

Unfortunately my mundane clothes were paced in extra large tote bags and it all reeks. Now my truck does too, just from hauling it home. Eew!
As I don't believe in chemical air fresheners/febreeze, we will be driving around with the windows down the next few days in an attempt to air things out.

So at mundane sewing class tonight I opened up the sides of the white byzantine so I can re-work it. It is supposed to be fuller and hopefully I will have just enough fabric to make this work out. I went ahead and re-ironed everything so it's nearly all ready to cut out.

I want to make a day shade. I have 2 pieces of canvas. I don't think I have enough though to make a very large tent. Not without some fancy footwork. I have to either buy more or use some yellow cotton twill to be the facing/dagged eged to make it stretch. I also have some red twill, but it was dyed with rit and bleeds heavily.....I need to lay it out and see how much I have. Maybe it can all be dyed the same. I might see about doing the top red and the facing yellow and maybe adding a detatchable red backdrop later.

Hmmmm...too bad I don't have a Portuguese persona:

The appliquee work on this is to die for!

Anyway, I'm still looking for someone to share the ride to Meridian Grand Tourney with me. And I want to have the dayshade done by then to use at this event. So there you have it. I want to have the byzantine re-worked, and the dayshade done by MGT. And I have to have to decide on an A&S entry by the end of the month as well. Arg.
