5 Days to Pennsic - Packing Day

Jul 19, 2009 03:43

Today I get to take the bulk of my gear to be loaded into a common trailer.
Tent, poles, tarps ropes, ground cloths, rugs, a folding chair, and a steamer trunk full of completed garb and accessories.

Anything else I make garb-wise will go up with me in the vehicle. The bedding is going in the vehicle instead of the trailer because we will be camping in the Fighter Field the night prior to land grab.

I set up my cot with bedding to see how comfy it would be. I've got a red cloth to drape on the cot, then a thin air mattress (almost looks like one of those pool floats). then sheets, then a double sided faux fur fuzzy blanket, then 2 pillows, then a lighter fuzzy blanket. I laid down on it to see how comfy it was and I fell asleep! It felt soooo comfy.

This cot is on loan from drmrsgal  and I am going to have to find out where she bought it because OMG I want one! I'm so grateful that she was kind enough to lend the cot to me. It's going to make a world of difference in how I sleep.

Did I say before all of the wood poles are now sanded down. Well they are, but they decided to leave me with one last splinter. And now I can't find the darn tweezers!

Once I get this load dropped off, I can focus on the feast pre-cooking, and packing the rest of the camp gear (like lanterns, etc), mundane clothes, mundane underclothes, Bath basket, etc. things to do.

Speaking of things to do, I decided not to do the Warp Weighted Loom this year. I want to get a little more technical expertise on the most efficent way to set it up before I jump in. I'm going to try to take some of the classes Mistress Thora Sharptooth is  teaching on the subject.

I did have a nice foam square for a flat box cushion and boy does my chair feel better with that cushion.  I have fabric for 2 or 3 cushions, but only 2 cushions.

Well gotta go  and get a bit of sleep anyway.

I feel so much less pressure. This will actually be do-able.
