I am amazed that anyone noticed my jeans as destroying an atmosphere, given the metal chairs, modern carpet, plastic cups and pitchers on the tables with no attempt to cover the modern convention style walls (probably a limitation of the hotel that they would not allow decoration of their walls or perhaps a rush to get an 12th Night to happen at all, I give the benefit of the doubt in the absense of knowledge, but again, if I'd had an issue with it (decorating that size space would have been pretty much impossible), I'd have addressed it in a constructive way by offering to help change it in future rather than in any way detracting from an event staff that clearly worked really hard and did a fine job; again, I had a grand time.) Sometimes I think folks go out of their way to try to make others feel bad, perhaps to make themselves feel important. Not my concept of upholding the concept of courtesy. I hold to the concept if you have an issue with an individual, you should politely address it with them privately rather than public proclamation in an attempt to shame and constructively help to make it better rather than putting other people down. It usually reflects on whoever denegrates others in public as the speaker being snobbish and petty. Negativity begets negativity. I'm aiming for positive. :-) Like you're shocked to hear that! :-)
