Goodbye, Mr. Goulet
This morning NPR announced that Robert Goulet died in California waiting for an lung transplant. He was 73. His career took off with his roll of in Camelot on Broadway the year I was born. The summer that featured Camelot for me was some years later when the movie came out. Helen, Yvonne, Heidi and I spent that summer in Highlands, NC singing those songs, playing that album and making tents out of our beds for castles. Over and over and over. It was the summer of Camelot. So hearing of Mr. Goulet's death has made me misty sad for a time gone by, for loves lost and for time gone by... and the dreams that escape us all.

It's with an ironic smile I paste those words in here. Helen and I made fun of them as kids, the sentiment too overpowering and eye rolling for kids under the age of 10. Wonder if Mom and I will sing some musicals together tonight like we did all of my growing up. Hope so. It was a lot of fun.
I've missed the LJ crowd. Work has indeed consumed my time. I shouldn't be here now, except I forgot to print out my ticket for tonight. Sigh. At least I'm very caught up and in really good shape so I don't have to be too guilty... but I also need to get back to it now.
