Yep, work ate my head and then I went to San Diego for work for 1/2 week and since I missed those days in the office... it's continuing to be hectic and a bit stressful. Sigh. Been a LONG time since I visited here. Not even sure I can catch up on all that's happened... so .. Highlights!

San Diego was a good work conference that underlined to me that in my field I have a really good grasp on what I'm doing in a field where turn over is high and educating who I have to negotiate with is... frequent. Tough when they're attorneys who don't want to hear from non-attorney's, but cool when they realize, yes, I've been doing this for 8 years and I pretty much know the major concerns. The hotel was nice. Got to see my cousin Katie which was really good... I rarely get to see the folks on my Dad's side of the family, and she's crazy in SUCH a great way. The middle day of the conference was pretty flat, but the other two were more than worth the time/resources/energy. I got to have dinner right on the water. Terrific seafood and then got to see the HMS Surprise, the one they used for the movie Master and Commander. COOL! Also got to go to the San Diego Zoo which was.... awesome. LOADS of neat birds, kitties, odd stuff, in a great environment. Major highlight... no, not the comatose panda... the silver back gorilla standing on the top of his hill, on the top of a log totally stretched up with both arms above his head. He was magnificent. His area also had it's own waterfall. Totally wow moment.

Haven't been doing so well on the exercise front, but have discovered I enjoy racquetball again. Last time I played was like 20 years ago, so the racquets have changed, but the bouncy, run into walls, can't really hear and it's all amusing stuff... is still the same. :-D

Trying to decide if I want to schlep all my stuff out to WoW's this weekend or just day trip it. Friend time would be AWESOME, but all that stuff, set up, 40 degree nights... am I a wimp? Bringing Emerson is a lot of work, too. Really would like to go with Laura, though. Decisions, decisions.

Wish my stomach would settle. Yesterday was home sick and today... well I'm fluctuating between needing food and upset feeling.

Oh, hey, finished reading The Golden Compass. I wanted to read it before the movie came out... and .. I'm sort of non-plussed. Have folks read the whole trilogy? Thoughts? The movie looked really good. Hmmmm.

Anyway, I've missed you all. Haven't had time to read up on stuff either, so feeling separated and out of loopish. Hoping I'm back into this soon.

Love.
