Likeable things

Hooray, the posters are finished. I'll get some slightly better paper tomorrow and print them out. Still stuck on the stupid invite though.

Things I have been enjoying when not going crazy with pins and posters:

1) Life on Mars
Fucking fantastic. Major points for the BBC for commissioning this excellent new series. Manchester policeman gets hit by a car and apparently goes back in time to the 1970's - is he mad, in a coma or has he really jumped back in time? Hysterically funny with moments of great pathos - we're all totally hooked, even malabar who doesn't get all the cultural references. Especially funny if you grew up watching The Sweeney, which it affectionately sends up a lot of the time but it's not just nostalgia and parody: the plots are tight and well written and the performances are great.

2) Billy Bragg
Damn, I love him - hey, Mr Bragg, please marry me. Oh no, wait, we're both married to other people. Never mind, I'll just sing along with you whilst I pin.

3) The bunch of drunk blokes singing Wonderwalls outside my bedroom at 2am - surprisingly they were in harmony and knew a remarkable number of the words. Made me laugh when I was struggling to get to sleep - well done, chaps.

4) The quick crossword in the Guardian, even though it's been veering towards cryptic lately.

5) Elizabeth Moon - just finished re-reading The Serrano Legacy series and the first two in the Vatta's War series. Damn fine SF and the next episode of Vatta's War comes out at the end of March - hooray!

6) Season 2 of House - my cup runneth over.

7) Deirdre Flint singing The Boob Fairy. As heard on the ever excellent CastOn: a podcast for knitters.

cool stuff, broken threads
