I rarely write or even discuss politics, but I have to admit I am disappointed that the Labour caucus saw fit to reelect Kevin Rudd, a man they dumped 3 years ago because he couldn't keep his ego under control. I kinda wish that if they were going to depose Gillard, they would have the sense to put another candidate in her place.
I'm not sure if Labour is deluding themselves that they can win with KRudd at the helm, I hope that they would consider replacing him before he does too much damage should he get in, and dump him like a hot coal if he loses.
I think that Julia fought every day against enemies within and without, certainly her gender was used as a weapon against her in ways that men rarely face - could you imagine a radio broadcaster asking JHoward if Jeanine was a lesbian and he was simply her beard.
That you for your service Julia, I expect history will be kinder to you than your own colleagues.
