- I don't get it.
Sorry?

- No, but. What?
This is a canon based Doctor Who roleplaying game. The term we prefer is "Pan Who", because it encompasses all eras of the television show, all official spin-offs, and even some of the unofficial things like books and audio plays.

- Oh, so. Awesome! I love Martha Jones! But she's already taken. Can I create an alternate version of her or play a duplicate?
Sorry, no. At this time, we're trying to stick with a "one of each" rule.

- Okay. But I've noticed that Martha hasn't posted in awhile.
Feel free to contact the mods if you are interested in a character you feel has been inactive. The mods will contact the player and take appropriate steps. If the player is going to drop the character, the mods will let you know and you'll be given an opportunity to apply.

- WTF, why do I have to wait a month to take a character whose episode aired yesterday?
We want people to stick with their characters for a while. Often times, characters are taken on an "ooh shiny" basis (we've all done this, mods included) and we lose interest. A one month waiting period seems like a fair amount of time to make sure you're really interested in the character.

- So I play Tegan. I notice you have a fifth Doctor. Should I contact them and ask if it's okay if I join?
You don't have to contact related players in the game, but it's always nice if you give them a heads up, particularly once you've joined. That's why we have an OOC community.

- I applied and was accepted! Yay! Now what?
First, join all of our communities. Done? Good. Then make an intro post. Your character has woken up on Bowie Base One in the year 2059, and the only other people there are the other characters in the game. From there, it's up to you.

- If the TARDIS works, why is the headquarters on Bowie Base One?
Well, there are going to be lots of characters without TARDISes. There are also several Time Lords wandering around, which means lots of TARDISes. So that we can have everyone have some common ground, we decided that Bowie Base One would be the in-character HQ of the game.

- So how does someone without a TARDIS get off Mars?
There are a couple of ways. They can either make friends with a Time Lord (or Time Agent or other individual with time/space travel) or they can randomly wander into another time and space. That was inserted into the game to make it easier for players to move their plots along without having to constantly wait for mod approval.

- Score, so we can do whatever?
No. Certain times and places are off limits.

- Uh, like what?
Nothing on the show can be rewritten. Historical events can't be rewritten. The plot of the game is that people are trying to fix this after all. Also, Gallifrey and the Time War are both off limits.

- Aw, why?
Because the mods said so. If you want to use it in a plot, you need to get mod approval first.
