Coming up this May 3rd and 4th is eXit SPACE's (my dance studio) annual show take/PAUSE, and family matinees. The matinees will have all the kids classes doing their cute-overload impressions, and the more beginning of the adult classes, including my tap class. (Which is technically the advanced tap, but we roll the dance in with the intermediate tap, and well, we're not as advanced as all that.) (Tap is Hard.) All four shows will include both modern pieces and the jazz piece that I'm in. The evening shows will have no kids pieces, all the adult avanced and some intermediate classes, and several company oaklanDrive dance company numbers. Maybe also some Redd Legg Dance numbers, I'm not sure. Tickets go on sale April 7th at Brown Paper Tickets, I don't know how much yet, but probably in the realm of 15 bucks or so. Last year we sold out at the only matinee, so this year we added a show. So that's four shows. I'll be in four pieces all together, but the tap will only be in the matinee shows. That's seven pieces each day that I'll be dancing. I have no idea how the people who are in more pieces than that are going to manage. I will be as a rutabaga. Inert, and lumpy. I will possibly also have a damned sole. Ha-ha.
Anyway, I want to invite all you locals and would be visitors to come one, come all, and watch the show! There will be many fabulously talented folks dancing. And me. I can promise you a good time, if you like dance at all. In the meantime, there's much rehearsing and choreographing going on at the studio, and muchly of the endurance building up for me. Because oh, my holy gerbils in the sky, it's a month away.
