I generally read many books at once, and so when I actually finish one it something of an event.
FEED by Mira Grant (Seanan McGuire)
Wow.
Seanan does her homework. She has come up with a zombie apocalypse that makes sense as an epidemic. Unlike most zombie apocalypse stories the story is set 20 years after the outbreak. People have come up with ways with living with it, most of which make sense to me (although I am not certain it would really work out this way). The main characters are bloggers. I'm not sure that blogging as we know it today would still be around, but I understand that if it continued to develop it would become something as different as blogs today are from the stuff we were doing 20 years ago. Figuring out where it might go and where the technology might go, when the mechanics of blogging are not the main focus of the story, is problematic.
I have to say there were things I did not see coming.
