Alt-Cont Ending There was a steady beeping as Jin entered the dark room. Jin watched as a young boy slept; his breathing shallow and ragged. As Jin neared the boy he glanced at the medical chart hanging at the foot of the bed. Yabu Kota, 16 years old. he noted. Bringing his hand up to the boy’s head Jin softly stroked his hair.
“Oyasumi, Kota.” He whispered and turned to head out the room.
Kota’s breathing began to ease and his body relaxed into the mattress.
“Hikaru…” he’d murmured quietly
It was soft and nearly inaudible, but Jin had definitely heard the boy’s small voice. His eyes widened and Jin turned back towards Kota. Though the room was dark Jin could still see the faint glistening of a single tear that had escaped from the teen’s eyes before the room when still. The silence that engulfed the whole of the room was suffocating and seemed to never end. Jin looked at Kota one last time smiling sadly. Living until the last possible moment indeed.
“Bye-bye.” And then the silence was broken as an elongated shrill beep emanated from one of the machines in the room.

Jin walked down the halls vaguely registering the multiple doctors and nurses that ran past him towards a nearby room. He stepped out of the building and sighed loudly, welcoming the biting, cold air. As he walked along the empty snow-lined roads Jin lit up a cigarette.
“I know it won’t kill you but I don’t think smoking is good for the angel image. Even for us angels of death.” Came a voice suddenly
Jin stopped and looked up, his eyes catching a solitary figure sitting up on a close by rooftop. Dark, black wings spread open against the pale moonlight and the figure glided down to him. Jin rolled his eyes and held out a cigarette.
“You’re one to talk Matsumoto.”
Jun smirked and took the cigarette from Jin as they continued walking, “I see someone’s in a foul mood.”
Scowling Jin growled out, “Shut it Matsumoto. I had to reap a kid today. You know I hate those.”
Taking a puff Jun let out a long breath, “You’ve really gotta get over this affection towards humans Akanishi. It doesn’t dwell well for your mentality. Especially as one that reaps them.” He paused and flicked the cigarette butt into the street, “Speaking of which, that boy you were with earlier…”
Jin looked up at the other angel, “The one I gave my coat to?”
Jun nodded, “Yeah, that one. You really shouldn’t get too close to him. I know you like humans and all but even so-”
“I know, I know.” Jin interrupted casually waving the other off.
Jun reached out a hand and grabbed Jin’s arm, “I mean it Jin. You really shouldn’t get too attached to him.”
Jin sighed and turned towards Jun, “Jun I get it. I know I’m inexperienced. I have a strange fondness of humans that other angels don’t - well those in our field anyways - and I’m centuries younger than you, but I’m not some rooky on my first reap anymore. I can sense the end of a person’s lifespan now. So yeah, I know that he doesn’t have much time left; that he’s dying.”

The snow crunched loudly as Kazuya walked along a familiar path. He came upon the bench he’d used before and sat down. The sun had just set and the snow began to fall. Kazuya watched as the people past by; some of them walking leisurely enjoying the spell that only fresh falling snow could provide, others pulled their coats closer around them and quickened their pace. Sighing heavily, Kazuya brought his knees to his chest. The last time he was at the park Kazuya had been watching the snowfall, but as much as he tried Kazuya couldn’t keep his thoughts off the kind stranger that had given him his coat. A bitter smile donned his face as Kazuya remembered why he’d gone out to the park that night.
As much as he wanted to see the other man again Kazuya had no way of finding him. Without even the knowledge of his name to go on all Kazuya had was the hope that being in the same place as that night would once again bring him to finding the other man. The wind blew softly and Kazuya shivered. How long had he sat in that spot waiting for someone that probably wouldn’t ever show up? The crowds of people that he’d been watching before had steadily gotten smaller until he was alone in the park. He slumped against the back of the bench in resignation and his arms tightened as he unconsciously hugged the other man’s coat close to his chest.
“Didn’t I say you’d get sick if you kept staying out here in the cold?” said a voice amusedly behind him.
Kazuya’s eyes widened and he turned around hopefully. Jin smiled tenderly at him and ran a hand through Kazuya’s cold hair. “How long have you been sitting here? You look like a snowman.”
Kazuya sputtered and blushed heavily, “A-ah. Eto…um. Thank-you for before.” He muttered awkwardly and held out Jin’s coat, then proceeded to promptly sneeze repeatedly.
Jin chuckled warmly as he took the coat from Kazuya, “You must be really cold.” He started then paused to look at the cold fabric in his arms disdainfully before taking off the jacket he was currently wearing.
Kazuya looked at the other man confusedly, “Ano…can I ask what you are doing?”
“Maa, it won’t really do any good to wrap you up in this coat now. It’s just as cold as you probably are.” Jin stated and brought the warm jacket to Kazuya’s shoulders, “Here take this one instead.”
“Eh! What about you? I couldn’t-”Kazuya had started before Jin brought a finger to his lips.
“Like I told you last time; you’ll need it more than I do.” Jin said while putting on the cold coat. He grabbed Kazuya’s hands in his own and brought the trembling fingers to his lips; puffing on them softly. “Come on, I’ll buy you something warm before I have to go.”
Kazuya nodded his head as Jin pulled him along to the convenient store across the street. Inside he picked out a can of tea that Jin paid for. Once outside again Jin began to pull away.
The younger man began to panic internally, “Wait!” Jin turned back questioningly, “I’m Kamenashi Kazuya. Can I have your name?”
Jin grinned brightly, “Akanishi Jin.”
Kazuya held onto Jin’s hands, “Will I see you again?”
He squeezed Kazuya’s hands, “Sure.”
“When?” came the reply. Kazuya need something more concrete.
Jin brought Kazuya’s hands to his lips, “I'll be there when you’re waiting for me.”

Maa...not much Kame-chan in this one. This chapter was meant to more properly introduce Jin. Well actually...I've noticed my fics tend to be more Jin-centric. Lol. ^o^
-__-;; I kinda hate myself. I keep starting new fics without finishing my older ones first. Okay, I definitely won't start a new multichapter fic until I finish at least one of the other ones first!
As always Comments are love!
