Title: Beautiful Snowflake

Summary: A first meeting between Jin and Kazuya who are watching the snowflakes fall and happen to meet each other.
Author's Notes: Maa, well this actually started out as a oneshot death fic, but halfway writing it I found I didn't have the heart to kill off one of the characters right after Jin's b-day so I left it as this short 581-word oneshot. *ahem* I actually did decide to continue the fic but if you don't want to feel the angst I suggest you just read this part as a short oneshot ^o^!

Jin watched in strange fascination as snowflakes fell to the ground from the sky above. He reached out his hand and watched the tiny flakes melt upon landing in his outstretched palm. They were like people, Jin thought. Each tiny snowflake was unique and lived out it short life for as long as possible as it fell down towards the earth below. A soft breeze suddenly came through and Jin turned his face away, waiting for the wind to die down. As the wind slowed to a stand still the snow flurries returned to their former gentle descent. When he turned his head back Jin noticed a lone figure sitting on a snow covered bench. It was late and he was surprised anyone was still out in the cold night, but simply shrugged before heading towards a small convenient store across the street.
There was a soft crunching as Kazuya walked along the snow covered sidewalk. Coming towards a park Kazuya took a seat on an empty cold bench. It was late; there were few cars on the road, and even less people on the streets. Every once in a while he would see a couple walking together, hands intertwined and loving smiles on their faces. He looked away from the people and turned his attention towards the cloudy night sky. There would be no stars for him to gaze at that night, but it was okay because the snow had begun to fall again. He reached out his hands and smiled sadly as the delicate snowflakes melted at his touch. Kazuya shivered as a breeze past by, tossing the falling snow into a strangely ethereal dance, and for a split second Kazuya thought he saw someone behind the veil of snow. After the breeze came to a halt and the snow began its repetitive fall once more, Kazuya looked to where the figure stood and saw that he was alone. Kazuya sighed and brought his knees up to his chest and began to watch the snowfall once more, when a sudden burst of warmth engulfed his left cheek.
“You’ll get sick if you stay out here much longer you know.” Jin said while pressing a can of warm tea to the person’s cheek. The other man blinked at him surprised and confused. Jin brought the can to the other’s hands, “It’s for you so take it already.”
Kazuya took the drink and nodded his head at the stranger before him. As the warmth from the can spread to his hands Kazuya suddenly realized how cold he was. He immediately began shivering uncontrollably and took an unsteady sip of the tea. Jin noticed Kazuya’s trembling figure and took off his coat, wrapping it around the smaller man. Kazuya’s eyes widened and he tried to shrug off the coat.
“N-no, I co-couldn’t-” he began
Jin brought the warm fabric up to Kazuya’s shoulders once more and smiled, “Take it, you’ll need it more than I do.” His eyes flickered behind Kazuya for a moment, “I’ll have to go for now. I’ll get it back from you some other time, okay?” Jin continued and promptly took off into the dark night without listening to the other’s response.
Kazuya watched in awe as Jin’s figured faded into the distance. Though confused as to what had exactly transpired, he couldn’t help but snuggle into the warmth that the large coat provided. Getting up from the bench Kazuya headed home with a smile on his face.
Owari...?
Not sure if I'll continue the deathfic.....I was totally feeling the angst earlier today but right now I just want fluff. And for anyone that's reading Smiling Doll, I'll post up the last chapter soon. I'm drafting the last part of it for once to try and make the time jumping less confusing.
