I miss my squeeing
- So, The Vintner's Luck premiered recently at TIFF. I'm still waiting on the critic reviews to roll in. Twitter isn't helping.
But a viewer over on IMDB was less than impressed.
I'm really sad now.
Apparently Sobran/Xas wasn't well depicted even though that was the heart of the novel (and that's not just me being slashy! Promise!). I felt most of the cast were so well chosen (I'm also assuming Keisha Castle-Hughes only got the job because of her connection to Whale Rider...) but maybe Niki Caro's addition/edition to Elizabeth Knox's work lacked? Sigh, the IMDB user review has me disheartened... because that person loved the book too. Apparently one of the major characters were cut AND one of the most significant scenes!
It should have been a full on European production - NZ author or not.
- Saw (500) Days Of Summer yesterday. I loved it so much. Lived up to my expectations and I fell in love with Zooey Deschanel even harder. Plus Joseph Gordon-Levitt is ♥ *sigh* how he has grown since 3rd Rock! And Mysterious Skin in fact!
